Waking Up Just Became Much Easier

The Music lovers who read this post might not believe that everyone hasn’t already created a “Personal Alarm Playlist” that plays different music every morning. It seems simple, but it has been helping me get out of bed in the morning and I’m in a better mood to start the day!

This is my ‘September Playlist’. Let me know what music I should include for October.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

“Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”

What else could you want to hear on a Sunday morning?

The Adventure

“And here we go, life’s waiting to begin”.

This song reminds me of drag racing in Grenada.

Wednesday

Wild Sun

by The Strumbellas

“Maybe we can wake the dogs tonight
Maybe we can see the morning light”

Claire and I went to see The Strumbellas at The Queen’s Plate in 2016. I didn’t know much of their music before the concert, but I am a fan now. Bonus – Canadian Band

Thursday

On the Road

by Angus & Julia Stone

“We’re running late in a running late game”

I liked Big Jet Plane the first time I heard it as part of a youtube mix. This one just seems fitting for us this year.

Saturday

Photosynthesis

by Frank Turner

“And I’m happy and I’m settled in the person I’ve become
But that doesn’t mean I’m settled up and sitting out the game
Time may change a lot but some things may stay the same”

Claire says this could be our anthem!

As trivial as a music playlist may seem, this is actually quite a big deal. The best surfing conditions right now in Playa Guiones are between sunrise and 10 am. Also, in case you didn’t realize, living near the equator means that you have sunset around 6pm all year. Sleeping in really shortens the day when you’re traveling. Getting up earlier has really helped me be productive so far!

What helps you get going on a Monday morning? Do you have any suggestions for my October playlist?
